Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant will miss an upcoming game against the New Orleans Pelicans due to an elbow injury.
The Pelicans have been without Herb Jones (right ankle sprain) and backup point guard Jose Alvarado (left oblique strain) for the past eight games. Jones has missed 15 of the last 16 games but is questionable on New Orleans' injury report. Alvarado is out.
Ja Morant's stance about his future could be doing a huge favor for the New Orleans Pelicans.
Morant went 7-13 from the field, draining all but one of his four three-pointers. He accounted for 24 points, 13 assists, and five rebounds. It was the type of performance that Grizzlies fans used to see daily, and his quotes that followed were promising for those who want to see Morant stick around in Tennessee.
Does the Heat’s interest mean that they’ll go all in for a Ja Morant trade? Not so fast. It looks like they have other plans as well.
While London was fun, the larger sample size - and respected local journalists - suggest that the end of the Ja Era in Memphis may still be on the way.
Ja Morant’s downfall has been sad but inevitable, a result of his own actions. Despite it being public knowledge that he is now on the Memphis Grizzlies’ trade block, very few teams appear to be openly interested in him.
