ปลากุแล หรือ ปลาหลังเขียว (ชื่อภาษาอังกฤษ: Sardinella) เป็นปลาน้ำเค็มในวงศ์ปลาหลังเขียว (Clupeidae) ซึ่งอยู่ในกลุ่มเดียวกับปลาเฮร์ริงและปลาซาร์ดีนครับ ปลาชนิดนี้มีความสำคัญทางเศรษฐกิจมากในประเทศไทย โดยเฉพาะในพื้นที่ชายฝั่งทะเล ลักษณะทั่วไป * รูปร่าง: มีลำตัวแบนข้างค่อนข้างมาก สันท้องเป็นคมเลื่อย * สีสัน: ส่วนหลังมักมีสีเขียวเข้มหรือน้ำเงินเข้ม (เป็นที่มาของชื่อ "ปลาหลังเขียว") ส่วนท้องเป็นสีเงินแวววาว * ขนาด: โดยทั่วไปมีความยาวประมาณ 10–15 เซนติเมตร แต่อาจยาวได้ถึง 20 เซนติเมตร * พฤติกรรม: อยู่ร
